Nobidomeyosui waterway was built in 1655 Edo era period, just one year later of Tamagawajosui aqueduct as life irrigation water for North Tokyo and South Saitama area from Tokyo Tachikawa city to Saitama Shiki city by 24 km.
Due to the dirty of the water, the stream was stopped in 1973 however the river has been re-streamed in 1984 arranged by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to reserve the natural historical waterway.
Now it's a nice healing refresh spot and you would be able to enjoy the walking to discover the nature !
野火止用水は、玉川上水からの分水路で、玉川上水完成の一年後１６５５年に開通しました。
東京都立川市から埼玉県志木市までの約２４キロの用水路です。
生活排水からの汚染によって、１９７３年に玉川上水からの分水が一時遮断されましたが、歴史的にも貴重な水路での清流復活を目指し、東京都の清流復活事業により１９８４年に再び流水がよみがえりました。
現在の用水路沿いは自然があふれ、川のせせらぎ音によって癒される、おすすめの散策ポイントとなっております。
