The current Nishitokyo city is established as new city at Tokyo in 2001 with the merge of Tanashi city & Hoya city.
Tanashi city was established in 1967 and the city had been named for 34 years.

東京都西東京市は、2001年に当時の田無市と保谷市が合併して新しくできた市です。
1967年の市制施行後の34年間、田無市は存在しておりました。
市としてはなくなってしまいましたが、駅や地名は現存しております。
また今でも、当時の面影を思い出させる”田無市”の入った看板、表示等を見つけることができますので、田無を懐かしむことができます。
”西田東無京市市”の看板は、なかなか珍しい看板かもしれません・・・。
Skytower Nishitokyo is just a radio tower and it's not possible to go upper point.
